Salman Shakeel ("we," "our," or "us") operates the StudyMate AI mobile application (the "App"), available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App on either platform.

We take your privacy seriously. StudyMate is designed to help you learn while minimizing data collection. Your study materials, questions, and notes are processed to provide AI-generated explanations and are handled with care.

Information We Collect

The App collects the following information to provide its AI-powered study features:

• Questions and input: Text questions you type, photos of problems you scan, files you upload, and voice input you provide. These are processed to generate AI explanations.
• Notes and study materials: Notes you create or paste, flashcard decks you generate, and quiz results. These are stored locally and optionally synced to enable access across devices.
• Session history: Your Q&A history, homework sessions, and follow-up conversations are saved so you can review and resume them later.
• Subject tags: Subject labels you assign to notes and flashcards (e.g., Mathematics, Physics) used to organize your library and power the Quiz feature.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to:

• Generate AI-powered explanations, notes, flashcards, and practice questions
• Save your session history so you can review past questions and answers
• Generate subject-based quizzes from your notes library
• Improve the accuracy of our AI responses

Your photos, questions, and notes are processed to generate responses and are not stored beyond what is necessary to provide the service. We do not use your study content for unrelated purposes.

Permissions

StudyMate requests the following permissions solely for the features described:

Camera

Requested the first time you tap the camera icon on any Q&A, Notes, or Homework input screen. Used to scan printed or handwritten questions and assignments. If you decline, you can type your questions or upload files instead.

Photo Library

Requested the first time you tap the upload from gallery option. Used to select homework images or question photos from your gallery. If you decline, you can take a new photo with the camera or type your questions.

Notifications

Requested after you complete your first full Homework session. Used to send review reminders for flashcards and notes. You can disable notifications at any time. The App works fully without notifications.

Data Storage & Security

Your study data is stored locally on your device and may be synced to our servers to enable cross-device access. Data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data.

AI Processing

StudyMate uses artificial intelligence to generate explanations, notes, flashcards, and practice questions. Your input is processed by our AI service providers to generate responses. We take steps to ensure that your data is handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We do not use your study content to train or improve AI models for unrelated purposes without your consent.

Data Deletion

You can delete individual sessions, notes, flashcard decks, or your entire account from within the App at any time. To delete all data, uninstall the App from your device. You can also request full account deletion by contacting us at the email below.

Children's Privacy

The App is intended for students aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at engr.salmankh.77@gmail.com and we will take steps to delete such information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
